About CUHP Library

The CUHP Library commenced its journey with the establishment of the University in 2009 as a central facility to reinforce the teaching, learning and research needs of the University. With the passage of time, the CUHP Library has endeavoured to foster a potent reputation for itself as a cutting-edge scholarly communications infrastructural milieu that emboldens patrons to engage pro-actively with the informational resources and, in the process, augment the intellectual milieu at CUHP, within the state of Himachal Pradesh as well as the entire North Indian region.
The CUHP Library is well-equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like all-round, 24x7 Wi-Fi connection across all the campuses, with access to various informational resources, both in print and digital, on-campus and off-campus, including CD-ROMs, printed and digital monographs, online databases, patents among others. With research becoming increasingly digital in nature, CUHP Library is at the vanguard, among academic libraries in the North Indian region, regarding its management and provision of e-resources to not only augment the research and learning activities, but also, to make a difference socially as regards the creation of a digitally-literate, discerning citizenry who can, in turn, cumulatively, make a positive effort in reinforcing the Indian HE scholarly output, in their respective disciplines. To this end, the CUHP Library has currently subscribed to various globally reputed research journals and certain necessary research tools.
Furthermore, the presence of top-notch integrated library management systems like Koha, coupled with RFID and Wi-Fi enabled applications and single window search applications to ease access to digital resources has eventuated in positioning the library as vibrant, amiable and motivational space for the patrons. In fact, given the fact that the job of the library is to spark the creativity of the patrons, particularly the students and PhD scholars, hence, the CUHP Library team is currently contemplating projects on concepts like Third Spaces, critical library instructional sessions, introduction of emerging tech-based services for enhanced user experience and so on. Libraries are more than the collections, they have a human-centered paradigm also. Hence, the CUHP Library team strives to rethink innovations, time and again, to conceptualize the CUHP Library as holistic socio-technical entity that opens a mind, touches a heart and brings a smile.
