CUHP Library Sections 

 

  1. Check Point/Property Counter

Property counter of the CUHP Library is situated in main entry part of the library and entry to the library is restricted to the bona-fide users on production of University cum Library Identity card. All the members should deposit their personal belongings; such as bag, umbrella, file, private books(s), etc. at the security counter of the library against TOKEN.

 

  1. Circulation Desk

All students, faculties and employees of the university are entitled for the membership of the library. All bonafide members above shall to fill up and sign a membership registration form available on university site (form section) or at help desk wing of the Membership Counter. After verifying all documents, an Identity cum Library Smart Card (ILS) will be issues to every member according to the user/ patron category to which he/she belongs, complete with a QR code.

 

  1. Acquisition Section

Acquisition section of the CUHP Library is responsible for the acquisition of physical and e-resources to reinforce the CUHP teaching, learning and research. The recommendations are received from the Deans/HODs and faculty members and, then, orders are placed with the empanelled vendors, who are the registered member of Federation of Publishers' and Booksellers' Associations in India and has been submitted EOI for supply of library books to the CUHP Library.

 

  1. Technical Processing Section

The Technical Processing Section is virtually the focal aspect of the   CUHP Library’s operations. The provision of information, mostly physically, is the domain of this very section. The classifications of books an d monographs are done using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) 23rd Edition and the cataloguing in the MARC 21 format in Koha. All the metadata—related and other bibliographic details are found in the Koha LMS.

 

  1. Bound Volume Section

This section is responsible for the custody and management of back volumes of journals.

 

  1. Reference Books Section

This section is responsible for the custody and management of reference books as well as theses and dissertations and uploading them on the Shodhganga repository.

 

  1. Periodical Section

This section is responsible for the custody of newspapers and magazines.
